E N V I R OTA N K LLC Standard Operating Procedures <br /> ENVIROTANK 360-661-8896 <br /> 1521 Silver Fir Dr. <br /> Camano Island, WA 98282 <br /> Objective <br /> • Remove residential heating oil tanks. <br /> • Remediate contaminated soil from leaking UST. <br /> • Install a bioremediation if needed. <br /> • Dispose of tanks and complete a tank decommissioning report . <br /> Responsibilities, authorities, and safety protocol <br /> • Must have an ICC certified project overseer on site. <br /> • Establish a perimeter for excavation site. <br /> • All utilities must be marked by a location company. <br /> • Standard safety gear includes hard hat,work boots and gloves. <br /> • Notify local fire marshal to witness tank removal when necessary(city regulations vary). <br /> • Have all required permits on site and up to date. <br /> Procedure <br /> • Locate underground oil tank with metal detection device and tank depth and directional tools. <br /> • Pump all liquids and triple rinse the tank. <br /> • Set up construction fencing around project. <br /> • Call any utility companies to disconnect if applicable. <br /> • Dig down and expose the tank while observing and protecting the surrounding areas. <br /> • Inert the tank with CO2 per size of the tank. (1.51b per 100 gallons) <br /> • Remove the tank from the pit and wrap tank if it has leaked before hauling it away. <br /> • With the excavator,take soil samples on the bottom of the pit to check for tank leakage. <br /> • If contamination is evident,then further remediation must take place. <br /> • Excavate contaminated soil and haul it to incineration. <br /> • Take final samples and document levels for tank decommissioning report. <br /> • Back fill and compact soil as needed to restore environment to natural state. <br /> • Complete decommissioning report and file it with local city hall for records. <br /> Documents completed must be filed with main office for company records. <br />
