The structural design should not reference the record drawings for the current work or otherwise use them in lieu of specifying the required information to perform the current project. Information provided in these drawings was not developed using the current codes. In addition, the scaling and quality of the drawings renders them partially illegible. See Section R106.1.1. Changes may be clouded for clarity. Revision call outs have been updated. Archi ectural . , Detail 6/A6 showing a cable-guard has been added. The following comments should be __.- addressed: a. The proposed locations for the guard are not clear and should be specified in the plans. See Section R106.1.1. b. The details specify a larger sphere than allowed per Section R312.1.3. In addition, the cables are prone to splaying at the midpoints. Cables should specify a maximum spacing of 3 inches and also specify that they are installed with sufficient tension to prevent passage of a 4-inch sphere at their midpoints. c. The detail should specify that the guards and their base connections be designed for a minimum 200-pound load in any direction. See Table R301.5. d. Sheet A0.0 should include a section titled "Deferred Submittals"and list the guards. The section should include a note requiring the guard design to be submitted to the engineer-of- record for review and approval prior to construction. See Section R301.1.3, and IBC Section R107.3.4.1. Detail for cable-guard does not apply, detail has been removed from Sheet A6. Additional Comments: . Wall Type W4 on Sheet A4 is referenced for the existing exterior north wall of the building and indicates 2x4 stud framing and R-21 insulation. The insulation should be specified as spray- foam insulation or another insulation type that can achieve the required thermal performance. Alternatively, the wall should be confirmed to be 2x6 stud framing similar to the other walls. See Section R106.1.1. a. Existing walls are confirmed to be 2x6. Detail updated. Structural 1. This comment has not been addressed. The proposed project includes structural work. The overlay of structural information on the architectural plans is not sufficient to specify the proposed structural work.
