• <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2440 <br /> An Ordinance relating to and regulating the production, <br /> sale and distribution of milk and milk products in the City of <br /> Everett; providing for the inspection of all equipment used in <br /> handling the same and of all premises where the same is pro- <br /> duced, prepared or sold; providing penalties for the violation <br /> thereof and repealing Ordinance No. 1642 and all ordinances <br /> and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith; <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1t DEFINITIONS: The following definitions shall <br /> apply in the interpretation and enforcement of this Ordinance: <br /> a. DAIRY: --The word "dairy", wherever used in this Ordin- <br /> ance, shall be held and construed to mean and include any place <br /> or premises where one or more cows or goats are kept and the <br /> whole or any part of the milk produced is sold or offered for <br /> _°.. sale for human consumption in the City of Everett. <br /> be MILK:--Milk is hereby defined t o be the whole, fresh, <br /> clean lacteal secretion obtained by the complete milking of one <br /> or mjre healthy cows or goats, properly cared for end fed, ex- <br /> cluding that obtained within fifteen days before and five days <br /> after parturition, and conforming in fat and solids other than <br /> fat with the standard hereinafter fixed. Provided, however, that <br /> nothing in this ordinance shall prohibit the sale to milk plants <br /> of the whole, unadulterated milk from any herd of cows or goats <br /> whose milk may test below the standard herein fixed. <br /> se MILK PRODUCTS:--The term "milk products" shall be eon <br /> strued to mean and include cream, skim milk, buttermilk, cultured <br /> buttermilk, homogenized, emulsified or viscolized milk or cream, <br /> ice cream and cottage cheese. <br /> d.
