We recommend that all areas remain fully vegetated. The
affected areas us stable at this time with no evidence of historic or recent landslide activity or and
erosion.
We note thatthere is a mappedhistoric landslide northwest of the shallow ravine where the weak
took place. There will always be a risk of landslide activity on this slope due to the presence of
very steep topography, pre-existing instability due to the historic slide activity, and potential for
spring activity, seasonal stream incision, and ongoing retreat and oversteepening due to emaion
and mass wasting.
Removal of specific Gees, blackberry vines, and other invasive plantsfunderstory sent of the
hazard areas are suitable provided areas are re -vegetated with native species and other
vegetation. Under no circumstances should bare soils be present except for short period in which
work is ongom& We understand that grasses, salal, ferns, and similar low-lying vegetation will be
utilized. No additional mitigation is necessary.
We understand that future construction may include a garage expansion near the residence along
with paving existing gravel driveway areas near the residence. These areas are not within
geologically hazardous areas and appear to be suitable/feasible provided erosion control
measures are in place until completed, work is properly permitted, and runoff is controlled per
plan. This workean be completed without adversely affectingnearby critical areas.
Closure
The information presented herein is based upon professional interpretation utilizing standard
practices and a degree of conservatism deemed proper for this project. We emphasize that this
report is valid for this project as outlined above and for the current site conditions and should not
be used for any other site.
Sincerely,
Cobalt Geaciences, LLC
'1/llfto29
Phil Haberman, PE, LG, LEG
Principal
PFl/se
Attachments
h IMen rmn
(206) 331-1097
