Removal of invasive plants growing on the surface. #2. Bringing in dirt. The project does not involve topsoil removal, land leveling, cuts, fills, swales. The dirt will be placed on top of the existing ground to create a series of dirt jumps, i.e. minor raising at the location of each "jump". Attached is a project overview with illustrations. There will be seeding and planting of native shrubs, trees to replace the removal of the invasive plants in order to improve overall forest ecosystem and mitigate any (potential)water runoff patterns from rainfall. These shrubs and trees will be planted around and in between each "line". Think of it as a giant "sand box"for young adults to play in. All of the work will be done by volunteers. The actual area for this project is illustrated on the attached .PNG file whereas: White=approx. boundary of the "old Japanese village?" Yellow=general traffic flow/direction foot/bike traffic. Black, Blue, Green lines = respective jump lines (width, length,#jumps on attached chart)with native trees and shrubs planted in between each "Line".
