January 3, 2024 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., January 3, 2024, <br />by Vice President Tuohy. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Bader, Rhyne, Vogeli, <br />Schwab, Fosse, Zarlingo and Tuohy were present. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Schwab recited the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br />The Honorable Joseph Williams, Superior Court Judge, conducted a ceremonial swearing in of <br />newly appointed council member Scott Bader. <br /> <br />The Honorable Remy Leonard, Superior Court Judge, conducted a ceremonial swearing in of <br />newly appointed council member Judy Tuohy. <br /> <br />The Deputy City Clerk administrated the oath of office to Council Member Tuohy on December <br />29, 2023. <br /> <br />The City Clerk administrated the oath of office to Council Member Bader on January 2, 2024. <br /> <br />The minutes of the December 20, 2023 meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR’S COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin congratulated Council Members Tuohy and Bader on their new roles. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin invited Police Chief John DeRousse to introduce a new police officer. <br /> <br /> OATH – POLICE OFFICER <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Bader, seconded by Council Member Fosse, to concur with the <br />appointment of Jack Doolittle as a new Everett Police Officer. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Deputy City Clerk administered the oath of office, and council members congratulated Police <br />Officer Doolittle.
