3.01 Work Activity: The tree inventory will be conducted by the Consultant contracted through a separate agreement with DNR. Although the major scope of work will be accomplished by the Consultant,the City staff will meet with DNR and/or the Consultant pre- project to discuss the scope of work and data deliverables. Based on the final inventory summary report, City staff will provide DNR with a written report outlining a timeline of anticipated activities that use the inventory data to achieve the purpose, objective, and scope of activities as outlined in the 2016 Tree Inventory Grant Proposal, (Attachment A). 4.01 Functions/Roles/Tasks of Agencies/Parties: DNR shall: • Provide the services of a Consultant to complete a public tree inventory. • Based on collected data,provide an inventory project summary report that includes field observations, general maintenance and management recommendations. • Provide technical assistance, as requested,to the City for maintenance and management plan development. • Provide technical assistance toward achieving the Tree City USA designation or Tree City USA Growth Award, if applicable. The City shall: • Dedicate staff resources for a pre-inventory meeting with the Consultant and/or DNR, and support the inventory effort by providing city-specific information to the Consultant, (Attachment B). Consultant will not begin inventory prior to receiving completed inventory information. • Within one year of delivery of data,provide a written report which outlines activities that the City will undertake to support the purpose, objective, and scope of activities to manage the urban tree resource as outlined in the 2016 Tree Inventory Grant Proposal, (Attachment A). • Request technical assistance if needed. • Respond to a brief follow-up phone interview or survey with DNR to gauge progress toward management and maintenance goals set by the City in the aforementioned written report.
