Do not click links or open <br />attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. <br /> <br />Dear Council Members, <br />As you move forward in your consideration of a consolidation plan between Everett Transit <br />and Community Transit, I urge you to include a provision in the future agreement that ensures <br />the service growth plans presented to the public in the process are sustainable and will be <br />provided in the timeline presented to the voters. <br />I say this because public trust in initiatives that ask for added revenue depends on the fulfillment of <br />those promises of service growth. Recently, Community Transit’s decision to implement a vaccine <br />mandate significantly derailed their own service maintenance and service growth plans and had a <br />deep negative impact on their workforce (see attachment). <br />I spent more than 17 years in the public transportation sector, and two and half of those were <br />with Community Transit, as their Manager of Service Planning (overseeing the 2024 network <br />restructuring plans) and later as Long Range Planning Manager (producing the 2021 Transit <br />Development Plan and starting their Journey 2050 long range planning project).
