January 27, 2024 <br />1 <br />The special meeting/retreat of the Everett City Council was called to order at 9:03 a.m., January <br />27, 2023, by President Schwab. <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Council Members Fosse, Rhyne, Schwab, Vogeli, Zarlingo, Bader, <br />and Tuohy were present. <br />Introduction and Ground Setting <br />President Schwab introduced Kathy Solberg, CEO of CommonUnity, and facilitator for the retreat, <br />who provided an overview of the day’s agenda. <br />Retreat Purpose and Goals <br />Kathy provided an overview of the desired outcomes for the retreat, which she discussed with <br />Council members preceding the meeting. She also provided her “Guidelines for Gathering.” Each <br />council member provided a statement on why they serve on the City Council. <br />What is Working? <br />Kathy shared the desired goals she received from Council members prior to the meeting. She also <br />provided a list of what is working among Council members. Discussion ensued regarding what is <br />working and accomplishments from the last year. <br />Shared Momentum <br />Kathy shared notes regarding the City Council’s mission and plan. <br />Consensus with Others on City Issues <br />Kathy addressed areas to grow consensus and Council members shared their top priorities. <br />Discussion ensued regarding priorities. <br />The Council retreat recessed for a break at 10:07 a.m. and reconvened at 10:17 a.m.
