• <br /> ORDI A1T'�E G. 2367 <br /> An Ordinance amending Section 56 of Ordinance 1.T0. 1260 • <br /> of the city of Everett relating to structural reouirements and <br /> live and dead load resistance, and declaring an emergency. <br /> THE CITY 02 N,Va}R ''' , DOES ORDAIN: • <br /> Section 1: That Section 56 of Ordinance 1260 at' the <br /> city of Everett be amended so as to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> Section 56' All structures shall be designed to resist <br /> the dead and live load., wind and other applied forces, without <br /> exceeding the allowable working stresses in building dater- <br /> ' ials, as prescribed by this Code. <br /> The dead load of a structure is its own weight includ <br /> ing partitions and permanent fixtures and mechanisms. <br /> Live loads shall comprise all loads other than dead <br /> load. "Floors and roofs shall be designed for the actual live <br /> load intended to be applied, subject to the provisions here- <br /> inafter set forth. <br /> The minimum live load rec «ireu. on each square foot of <br /> area shall be as follows: <br /> 25 pounds for: roofs, marquees, and permanent awnings, <br /> horizontal area. <br /> 40 pounds for: places of habitation, except rooms con- <br /> taining over five hundred (500) square feet of floor area, . and <br /> places of refuge. <br /> 50 pounds for: office buildings above the ground floor, <br /> places of detention, and cb c.. s rooms with fixed seats. <br /> 60 pounds for: garages with floor area not to exceed five <br /> hundred fifty (550 )s ware feet and not used for trucks. <br /> 75 pounds for: where seats are fixed in ,,laces of public <br /> assembly, except class rooms; stables and rooms containing over <br /> five hundred (500) square feet of floor area in places of habi- <br /> tation. <br /> -1- <br />
