January 31, 2024 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., January 31, 2024, <br />by President Schwab. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Council Members Zarlingo, Vogeli, Bader, Rhyne, Tuohy, and <br />President Schwab were present. Mayor Franklin and Council Member Fosse were excused. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Zarlingo recited the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br />The minutes of the January 24, 2024 meeting were approved. <br /> <br />The minutes of the January 27, 2024, special meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR’S COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin was excused. <br /> <br />President Schwab invited Police Chief John DeRousse to introduce new police officers. <br /> <br /> OATH – POLICE OFFICERS <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Bader, to concur with the <br />appointment of Rogelio Guizar and Rudy Gilgallon as new Everett Police Officers. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was call with all council members voting yes, except Council Member Fosse who was <br />excused. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Deputy City Clerk administrated the oath of office, and council members congratulated Police <br />Officers Guizar and Gilgallon. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />Council received one (1) written comment, and the following member of the public spoke: Sarah <br />Olson, Michael Hill, and Chelsea Gray. <br /> <br />
