1 ORDINANCE NO. 2338-98 AN ORDINANCE establishing procedures for the abatement and removal as public nuisances of junk vehicles or parts thereof from private property and repealing Section 2 of Ordinance No. 869-82, as amended(EMC Section 46.40.020). WHEREAS,RCW 46.55.240 gives cities, towns or counties authority to adopt an ordinance establishing procedures for the abatement and removal as public nuisances of junk vehicles or parts thereof from private property, so long as the ordinance contains certain provisions; and WHEREAS,while the City's existing procedures, set forth in Section 2 of Ordinance No. 869-82 and amendments thereto, have been effective, there are significant demands being placed on the existing system which demands must be mitigated by making the existing system more efficient; and WHEREAS, to better address the civil violations of the City's regulations that endanger the public health, safety and welfare, it is necessary to make the following amendments to the City's procedures for abatement and removal as public nuisances of junk vehicles or parts thereof from private property; NOW, THEREFORE,THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: Title This ordinance shall be known as the Junk Vehicle Abatement Ordinance and may be cited as such. Section 2: Definitions For the purposes of this ordinance, the following words shall have the following meanings: A. "City"means the City of Everett.
