I
I3.1.1 Wetland A
Cowardin classification: Palustrine, Forested Wetland, Broad-leaved deciduous, Seasonally
I Flooded
HGM Rating classification: Depressional
City of Everett/Ecology classification: Category II (21 points, habitat score = 6)
IBuffer (without general mitigation measures): 150 feet
Wetland A is a depressional system per the HGM classification system (Brinson 1993). Currently,
I the on-site portion of Wetland A is 1,500 square feet in size, but it extends well off-site to west.
Under the Wetland Rating System for Western Washington, wetlands with these characteristics are rated
using the Depressional rating form. A stream(Stream A, described below)meanders in a generally
Inortheasterly direction through Wetland A and serves as an inlet and outlet to Wetland A.
1
I
1 i
l
',agar I._ f
Figure 2 —Photograph of Wetland A, looking northwest from site.
I Vegetation within the wetland is dominated by black cottonwood(Populus balsamifera),Pacific willow
(Salix lasiandra; FACW), hardhack (Spiraea douglasii; FACW), reed canarygrass (Phalaris arundinacea;
FACW), and slough sedge (Carex obnupta; OBL). Dominant vegetation in the area mapped as
wetland rates as FAC or wetter, indicating that a hydrophytic plant community is present.
Soils underlying Wetland A are black (10YR 2/1) silt loam from the surface to at least 16 inches
1 in depth. This profile meets the hydric soil indicator Thick Dark Surface (Al2).
At the time of the site review, the accessible portions of the wetland were ponded or saturated to
I the surface. Wetland A therefore meets primary hydrology indicators Surface Water (Al), High
Water Table (A2), and Saturation (A3).
8208 Florida Drive 5 Wetland and Buffer Restoration Plan
111
WRI#21348 Revision 1:June 15, 2022
