<br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2342
<br /> AN ORDINANCE licensing the business of. auctioneer in the City of
<br /> Everett , amending Ordinance No. 1585 by adding thereto new
<br /> Sections to be known as Section 5A, Section 5B, Section 50 ,
<br /> Section SD and Section 5E, providing penalties for the
<br /> violation thereof, and declaring an emergency.
<br /> The City of Everett does ordain:
<br /> Section 5A. No person shall act as auctioneer of jewelry,
<br /> gold, silver or plated ware , precious stones , watches, clocks , books ,
<br /> bric-a-orac , rugs, clothing , china, porcelain, crockery, glassware ,
<br /> art goods , linens , laces or leather goods for a period of over thirty

<br /> Section 5B. No auctioneer shall misrepresent the quality,
<br /> kind or value of any article at any auction sale , and any statements ,
<br /> oral or written, regarding th,Q same shall be considered as warranties.
<br /> Section OC. No auction shall be held between the hours of
<br /> six o 'clock in the evening and eight o 'clock the following morning ,
<br /> and none of the above mentioned articles shall be given away, dis-
<br /> posed of or offered to any person as a gift , premium, bonus or in-
<br /> ducement to purchase any other article or commodity.
<br /> Section SD. No person shall act as a by-bidder , or what is
<br /> commonly known as "oapper", a "booster" , or "schiller" at any auc-
<br /> tion or offer or make any false biL to buy or pretend to buy any
<br /> such article sold or offered for sale at any public auction sale .
