ORDINANCE NO. 2327 An Ordinance submitting to the legal voters of the city of Everett a proposed amendment to the Charter of the city of Ev- erett with relation to the limitation of tax levies and provid- ing that the tax levy for general purposes shall not exceed fif- teen mills and that such levies be based upon the assessed ra- ther than the real valuation of the real and personal property. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That a proposed amendment to Section 122 of the Charter of the city of Everett with relation to limitation of tax levies and providing that the tax levy for general purpos- es shall not exceed fifteen mills and that such levies be based upon the assessed valuation rather than the real valuation, be submitted to the legal voters of the city of Everett at the gen- eral municipal election to be held in said city on December 3, 1927. Section 2: That Section 122 of the Charter of the city of Everett be amended so as to read as follows, to-wit: Section 122: The Council shall have authority to levy tax- es upon all real and personal proerty, not exempt from taxation, each year as follows: For Parks and cemetery, not exceeding one (1) mill. For libraries, not exceeding one and 25/100 (1.25) mill. For all other purposes (except purposes mentioned in the succeeding section ) , not exceeding fifteen (15) mills* Such tax levies shall be based upon the assessed valuation of the real and personal property rather than upon the real valuation. Section 3: That the form of the ballot to be used at said election shall be as follows: -1-
