Community Safety Program also known as “Block Watch.” <br />In 2023, the Everet City Council was provided ARPA funds. Council Members Schwab and Tuohy <br />earmarked $20,000 for the establishment of a "Block Watch" type program, designed to s�mulate the <br />community. The chosen contractor will spearhead the ini�a�ve, encompassing a strategic overhaul of <br />tradi�onal block watch models. <br />Key Responsibili�es: <br />1.**Re-Imagining Block Watch Programs: ** Revamp and redefine the conven�onal approach to <br />maximize impact. <br />2.**Stakeholder Engagement: ** Collaborate with internal and external partners, ensuring support from <br />key en��es such as neighborhoods, police, administra�ons, council funders, and relevant city <br />departments (e.g., Public Works, Parks). <br />3. **Plan Development: ** Create a comprehensive toolkit/training packet, providing clear guidance to <br />program par�cipants and outlining departmental responsibili�es for seamless project execu�on. <br />4.**Community Educa�on: ** Partner with the city communica�ons team to conduct up to five (5) <br />community mee�ngs and launch an outreach campaign, fostering widespread par�cipa�on and <br />understanding of the program. <br />5.**Budget Management: ** Oversee a contract not exceeding $30,000, with a $10,000 alloca�on for <br />essen�al supplies and materials. <br />This ini�a�ve aims to empower communi�es, bolster safety, and strengthen civic engagement through <br />innova�ve strategies and collabora�on. <br />This contractor will report to the Communica�ons and Engagement director or their designee. <br />Start Date: March 8, 2024 <br />End Date: Dec, 31,2024 <br />Monthly payments of $3,000 upon receipt of invoice.
