NELSON GEOTECHNICAL
ASSOCIATES. INC.
October 12, 2021
Andrew Sharp
Via Email: sharp shark2010@frontier.com
17311-135" Ave. N.E. Suite A-500
Woodinville, WA 98072
(425) 486-1669
www.nelsongeotech.com
Geotechnical Engineering Evaluation and Engineering Geologic Assessment - REVISED
Sharp Residential Remodel
5404 South 3rd Avenue
Everett, Washington
NGA File No. 1300621
Dear Andrew:
This letter documents our geotechnical engineering evaluation and qualitative engineering geologic
assessment of the proposed residential remodel project located at 5404 South 3rd Avenue in the Lowell
neighborhood of Everett, Washington, as shown on the Vicinity Map in Figure 1.
INTRODUCTION
Project plans consist of an interior remodel of the existing single-family residence at the site and installing
a surface water drain on a portion of the western perimeter of the main residence structure, directed to
a drain field at the north edge of the property. A new 4-inch PVC sewer line will also connect to the
existing side sewer line. The City of Everett has mapped the property within landslide and erosion hazard
overlays and has requested a geotechnical review of possible geologic hazards affecting the site and
proposed development.
SCOPE
Based on our understanding of the planned development and site conditions, the services to be provided
by NGA included:
1. A review of available soil and geologic maps of the area as well as other relevant
geotechnical information, including publicly available LiDAR imagery.
2. Visiting the site to reconnoiter surficial information as well as assess existing stability
conditions.
3. Exploring the subsurface soil and conditions within the site using hand -tool explorations,
as necessary.
