Please coordinate with her and let us know if you require
additional information.
We have completed the first review of the building plans for this project. This email will serve as the review letter. The
comments below should be addressed. Two revised full-sized hard-copies of the drawings should be submitted for
review. An itemized response letter stating how each comment has been addressed should be included with the
drawing. Additional revised documentation, including but not limited structural calculations and other supporting
documentation, should be submitted as required.
Comments
1. The submitted documents to not clearly show the proposed scope of work. It is understood that the project will
include at least one exterior unit and four interior units. Floor plans should be provided showing the locations of
all units. The plans should include a schedule indicating the type and weight of each unit.
2. Continuing with the previous comment, the aerial image provided does not appear to be the correct building. It
is noted that an aerial image may not be required if the site plans clearly show the location(s) of the exterior
unit(s).
3. It is understood that the units are likely mounted to the walls. If the units are suspended overhead, details
providing independent vertical support and lateral bracing are required. The supports and detailing should be
designed to comply with ASCE 7-16 Chapter 13.
4. The building appears to contain dwelling units that will be separated by fire-rated assemblies. Penetration
details should be included providing fire-stoppping rated for the minimum rating of the assemblies.
Please contact me if you have questions. Thank you.
— Drew Martin, P.E.,S.E.
Associate Engineer—Commercial Plans Examiner I Permit Services
425.257.8810 13200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett, WA 98201
EVERETT Phone Hours: M/W/T: 8 am - 12 pm & 1 pm—3 pm;Tu: 1:00pm-3:00pm
everettwa.gov/permits I Facebook I Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
1
