Arborist Assessment
DRG will provide an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist with Tree Risk Assessment
Qualifications to visit an estimated 62 trees in the median along Colby Ave.The arborist will apply Level 2 Tree
Risk Assessment methodology to assess the current condition, health, and structure of identified trees.By
engaging DRG and our dedicated team of arboricultural specialists, you are assured of a quality arborist report
and professional recommendations to guide tree care. The data collection will include:
●Evaluate the site conditions that may impact the tree.
●Assess and evaluate each tree’s overall health &species profile.
●Review the load factors that may impact the tree.
●Identify tree defects and conditions affecting the likelihood of failure.
●Categorize the risks.
●Provide tree-specific recommendations for any risk mitigation.
●Photograph documentation of specific defects or conditions influencing the risk.
Using a pen tablet computer, the arborist will record the above data in our Geographic Information System
(GIS).The tree condition assessment will be provided in your preferred data format (options include Google
kmz, excel,or other GIS formats)for delivery into the City’s TreeKeeper system. The data and observations will
also be used to prepare a summary arborist report and map to guide the maintenance and care of the trees.
The report will recommend maintenance that may include healthcare treatments, pruning, and removals.
Arborist Report
Upon completion of the fieldwork, tree information will be consolidated into an arborist report that
summarizes tree information collected along with a discussion of any laboratory analysis recommendations.
It will include photos as necessary to communicate and document any concerns. The report will also detail
the recommended maintenance activities and priorities. Also, since the City of Everett has concerns about the
impact of the trees on air quality for the surrounding neighborhood,DRG will provide additional research and
discussion of this issue within the report.
Additional Laboratory Testing
If requested by the City,Davey Resource Group can coordinate laboratory testing of plant materials for disease
or fungus identification. This process would include technical assistance from Washington State University
and is dependent on the number of trees that may require analysis.DRG recommends this service be
considered a er the initial assessment has been conducted and the breadth of disease or fungal concerns is
determined.
Experience and Expertise
Davey Resource Group is the arboricultural and horticultural consulting subsidiary of The Davey Tree Expert
Company. We have provided tree inventory, risk assessment, and urban forestry consultations to the City of
Everett. As a trusted partner for the City’s urban forestry program,we are available to accurately and
sustainably assist with managing your critical green infrastructure.
Sincerely,
Ian Scott -Area Manager
Board Certified Master Arborist #PN5408-BUM
ASCA RCA #698,www.daveyresourcegroup.com
Colby Ave Trees
DRG Proposal
2 of 5
