The City will incur costs associated with relocating individuals occupying the Waits Motel, including moving fees, rental assistance, and other services. The total is expected not to exceed $50,000. This amendment will provide the budget authority to fund those costs. On January 10, 2024, City Council approved a purchase agreement for the Waits Motel in the amount of $1,850,000. This amendment will provide the budget authority for that purchase. This reappropriation proposes to carry forward $193,913 in grant awards (grant number IAA24237) obtained from the Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) to support the Therapeutic Court - Substance Use Disorder Program. Grant funds are intended to be used to identify individuals with substance use disorder or other behavioral health needs and engage those individuals with community-based therapeutic interventions.
