Please review and respond to the comments below. For clarity, we have combined Planning and Permit Services comments. Planning Comments 1. The current proposal shows the creation of an additional dwelling unit in the basement of this single-family dwelling. It may be possible to create a second unit, however that would require additional applications and approvals. a. This current application may proceed if the stove/range and dishwasher are removed, and the kitchen sink is reduced to 'bar-sink' size. Permit Services Comments 1. The plans show a whole house fan (WHF) in the new bathroom.The plans should show: 2. A balanced whole house system (fresh air supply as well as exhaust) per Section M1505.4.1.4: a. A fan in the bathroom would require testing, the WHF should be relocated to an open area. b. It should be shown how the living room will be provided with fresh air. c. The outdoor intake and exhaust openings per Section R303.4. d. System control requirements per Section M1505.4.2. e. Maximum sone rating of 1.0 per Section M1505.4.1.1. 3. The size of the window in the sleeping room should be shown to be in compliance with Sections R310.6& R310.2: a. A minimum openable area of 5 square feet, b.
