MTE witnessed vertical and horizontal <br />joint seals for the inner gypsum board layer and penetrations thru this layer. The joints are sealed as per ASTM <br />E2393 and the penetrations are sealed as per ASTM E2714 and the Engineer Judgements and UL procedures. <br />The ASTM's require a minimum of 10% of the firestopping be witnessed to avoid any destructive testing. The <br />approved materials used were Spec Seal ES120 elastometric firestop caulk, Spec Seal LCI intumescent firestop <br />caulk and rock wool where required. Inspections as required: <br />1. Soffit — Witnessed approximately 50% of the soffit's horizontal and vertical joint seals. The joints were <br />sealed as per UL No. BW-S-0020 using the UL specified LCI intumescent firestop caulk. <br />2. The beam flange to soffit joint — Witnessed 100% of this joint's firestop seal as per EJ detail referencing UL <br />No. WW-D-1006. The joint was sealed using rock wool and the UL specified ES120 elastometric firestop <br />caulk. <br />3. Metal conduit penetrations — Witnessed (2) of (2) less than nominal 2-1/2" metal conduit penetrations as <br />per EJ detail referencing UL No. W-L-1168 and W-L-1257. The penetrations were sealed using the UL <br />specified LCI intumescent firestop caulk. <br />4. Sleeved and un-sleeved metal pipe penetrations — Witnessed (1) of (1) sleeved and (1) of (1) un-sleeved <br />penetrations as per UL No. W-L-1251. The sleeved penetration was sealed using rock wool and the UL <br />specified LCI intumescent firestop caulk.
