The funds will be appropriated to Fund 342, Program 041 (CIP-1). All related design and engineering costs are estimated at $360,000. Project summary statement: The Main library’s approximately 30 plus years heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system has reached its useful life and requires replacement. Park and Facilities intends to acquire professional services for architectural and engineering services to provide design, permitting, and construction documents for the replacement of the HVAC system at the Main Library. Upon completion of the design work, Parks & Facilities staff will return to City Council to amend the Ordinance for construction. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Adopt an Ordinance creating a Special Construction Project entitled “Main Library HVAC Replacement Project”, fund 342, program 041, to accumulate design and engineering costs for the project.
