2024 Pavement Maintenance Overlay SPECIAL PROVISIONS PW# 3823 30 1-08.0 Preliminary Matters 1 (May 25, 2006 APWA GSP) 2 3 GLF 1-08.0(1).DOCX 4 Add the following new section: 5 6 1-08.0(1) Preconstruction Conference 7 (COE based on October 10, 2008 APWA GSP) 8 9 Prior to the Contractor beginning the work, a preconstruction conference will be held 10 between the Contractor, the Engineer and such other interested parties as may be 11 invited. The purpose of the preconstruction conference will be: 12 1. To review the initial progress schedule; 13 2. To establish a working understanding among the various parties associated or 14 affected by the work; 15 3. To establish and review procedures for progress payment, notifications, approvals, 16 submittals, etc.; 17 4. To review safety standards and traffic control; and 18 5. To discuss such other related items as may be pertinent to the work. 19 20 The Contractor shall prepare and submit at the preconstruction conference the following: 21 1. A breakdown of all lump sum items; 22 2. A preliminary schedule of working drawing submittals; and 23 3. A list of material sources for approval if applicable. 24 25 F1-08.0(2).DOCX 26 Add the following new section: 27 28 1-08.0(2) Hours of Work 29 (December 8, 2014 APWA GSP) 30 31 Except in the case of emergency or unless otherwise approved by the Engineer, the 32 normal working hours for the Contract shall be any consecutive 8-hour period 33 between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m, or as required by section F1-07.23(1). Monday 34 through Friday, exclusive of a lunch break. If the Contractor desires different than the 35 normal working hours stated above, the request must be submitted in writing prior to 36 the preconstruction conference, subject to the provisions below. The working hours 37 for the Contract shall be established at or prior to the preconstruction conference. 38 39 All working hours and days are also subject to local permit and ordinance conditions 40 (such as noise ordinances). 41 42 If the Contractor wishes to deviate from the established working hours, the Contractor 43 shall submit a written request to the Engineer for consideration. This request shall 44 state what hours are being requested, and why.
