• s
Drew Martin
From: Drew Martin
Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2023 4:31 PM
To: Cassandra Cheatham
Subject: City of Everett Permit Services: 10111 9th Avenue W(B2208-006)
Hello, Cassandra.
This email recaps our telephone conversation regarding this project. See the items below describing redlines we are
performing to finalize and approve the drawing set.
4a.The W2 detail requires resilient channels per the referenced listing.
5.The C1 detail specifies insulation, which is not allowed without adding an-additional layer of GWB per the Ga Manual
general notes. The intent of this detail is only to perform patching of the ceiling due to the proposed wall
medications. It is understood that the listing has been verified by you to be consistent with the original
construction. The detail will be revised to remove the insulation and include a note to verify during construction that
the existing assembly matches the detail.
The revised drawings include a new canopy that was not included in the previously reviewed drawing set. The canopy is
a structural addition and requires design and the seal of a licensed engineer per RCW 18.43. We can approve the
proposed design without requiring another submittal with the following edits:
a. Existing studs supporting the canopy will be doubled; new studs will be fastened to the existing studs.
b. Simpson A35 clips will be specified on each side and at each end of each double-stud to the supporting
structural framing at the floor lines(i.e.,top of bottom sill plates).
c. The existing interior GWB covering will include a note to demolish and replace in-kind in order to install the
studs and blocking.
Note that these edits do not negate state law. All structural work sealed as required by a licensed engineer on future
projects.
Drew Martin, P.E., S.E.
LIAssociate Engineer—Commercial Plans Examiner I Permit Services
425.257.8810 13200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett,WA 98201
EVERETT Phone Hours: M/W/T: 8 am - 12 pm & 1 pm—3 pm;Tu: 1:0Opm-3:00pm
everettwa.gov/permits I Facebook I Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
1
