• <br /> , <br /> 80-8 UNSAFE CONDITIONS. All electrical wires, equipment and apparatus which are <br /> unsafe or not provided with adequate safeguards, or which constitute a fire hazard, or are <br /> otherwise dangerous to human life, or which in relation to existing use constitute a hazard to <br /> safety or health , or public welfare by reason of inadequate maintenance, obsolescence, fire <br /> hazard, disaster damage, or abandonment, as specified in this Code or any other effective <br /> ordinance area, for the purpose of this section, considered unsafe conditions. All such <br /> unsafe conditions are hereby declared to be public nuisances and the owner or his agent must <br /> abate by repair, rehabilitation, demolition, or removal in accordance with this Code or by <br /> any other procedures provided by law. <br /> 80-9 BOARD OF REVIEW. For the purpose of determining suitable alternate materials, <br /> alternate types and methods of construction and reasonable interpretations regarding the <br /> National Electrical Code, any person aggrieved by an order or action of the Building Official <br /> who does not have an enforcement procedure pending pursuant to Chapter 1.20 EMC, may <br /> file a written request with the City Clerk requesting a determination by the Board of Review. <br /> The aggrieved party must file such request within thirty calendar days from the date of <br /> receipt of the written order and shall cause to be made at his own expense, any test or <br /> research required to substantiate the request. <br /> 80-10 VIOLATION. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to install, <br /> alter or extend any electrical equipment in the City, or cause the same to be done, contrary to <br /> or in violation of any of the provisions of this Code. <br /> 80-11 PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS. <br /> (a) Permits required: No person, firm or corporation shall install, alter, replace or extend <br /> any electrical work or equipment except replacement of kind or as provided for in <br /> Section 80-12, "Work Started Without a Permit," without first obtaining a separate <br /> electrical permit for each installation, alteration, replacement or extension from the <br /> Building. <br /> (b) Application: To obtain a permit the applicant shall first file an application therefore <br /> in writing on a form furnished for that purpose. Every such application shall: <br /> (1) Identify and describe the work to be covered by the permit for which <br /> application is made; <br /> (2) Describe the land on which the proposed work is to be done, by house and <br /> street address; <br /> (3) Indicate the use or occupancy for which the proposed work is intended; <br /> (4) Be accompanied by plans and specifications as required in Subsection (d) of <br /> this section; <br /> 3 <br />
