KJL Environmental Consulting
27207 35"Ave NE
Arlington,WA 98223
January 31,2018
Applicant/Owner
Oliver and Vanessa Lewis
P.O. Box 12717
Everett,WA 98206
Re: Nassau St Property—Buffer Mitigation Preparation
Dear Oliver and Vanessa:
Thank you for reaching out regarding the proposed implementation of the buffer mitigation plan located
at the single family home development project located on 3333 Nassau Street (Tax ID:
00437578601900). The proposed buffer enhancement area is dominated with a variety of invasive plant
species, with little to no significant native tree or shrub cover. The use of mechanized clearing within
this area should not have an impact on existing native cover and would be an effective means to prepare
the planting area. I would recommend flagging any native trees or shrubs that may be present within
this area to avoid damaging native plant species. A thick layer of mulch applied to the cleared areas
would also help control invasive plant re-growth and provide some benefit to installed mitigation plants.
With respect to the use of chemical control herbicides, the City of Everett code 19.54.040 states that
herbicides and fertilizers cannot be used within 25-feet of a surface water system. If these chemicals
are planned to be used as part of the mitigation project, please maintain the minimum use setback to
the adjacent surface water.
If you should have any questions or need anything else, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
Kyle Legare
E: KJL.ENCO@gmail.com
P:425-308-4628
