Edgewater Creek Bridge Replacement November 2023 91 The Plans show the horizontal alignment and vertical profile of a feasible temporary 1 access road with approximate cut and fill and wall locations required to provide an access 2 road. A 14-foot width has been provided as a basis for providing a uniform quantity for 3 bidders, however, the Contractor may select a different width to accommodate 4 construction vehicles and equipment. 5 6 Excess fill from road grading shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be 7 disposed of in accordance with Section 2-03.3(7). Based upon an assumed roadway 8 width of 14 feet, the approximate quantity of fill required for road grading is 105 CY. The 9 approximate quantity of material excavated as shown in the Plans is 550 CY. 10 11 After use of the temporary access road is no longer required, the Contractor shall remove, 12 haul, and dispose of the aggregate material used for the temporary access road. Any 13 portion of cut walls to remain that is above the existing surface grade shall be cut and 14 removed down to the existing surface grade in a manner accepted by the Engineer. The 15 Contractor shall blend the remaining temporary access road into the surrounding 16 topography to remove the appearance of a road as directed by the Engineer. Temporary 17 access road retaining walls that do not conflict with the temporary work bridge shall 18 remain in place to stabilize the slope. 19 20 2-02.3(2).GB2 21 Removal of Bridges, Box Culverts, and other Drainage Structures 22 23 2-02.3(2).INST1.GB2 24 Section 2-02.3(2) is supplemented with the following: 25 26 2-02.3(2).OPT1.FB2.DOCX 27 (June 26, 2000) 28 The Contractor shall remove existing Bridge *** EVTB-15 – Edgewater Bridge *** 29 after routing traffic onto *** West Bound onto Glenwood Ave and East Bound onto 30 SR 526 ***. 31 32 2-02.3(2).OPT11.GB2 33 (January 2, 2018) 34 Requirements for Closing Bridge to Traffic Prior to Beginning Removal 35 The Contractor shall not close the existing bridge to traffic, and shall not begin bridge 36 removal operations, until the following conditions are met: 37 38 1. The Contractor’s bridge demolition plan Working Drawing submittal has 39 been processed and all comments from the Engineer have been 40 addressed. 41 42 2. The Contractor has received the Engineer's acceptance of all shop 43 drawings and materials submittals for materials required for the work to be 44 executed during the closure. 45 46 3. The Contractor has submitted a Type 1 Working Drawing consisting of a 47 report on the status of material delivery. The report shall specify the 48 materials already available at the site, the materials yet to arrive at the site, 49 and the scheduled delivery dates of the materials yet to arrive at the site, 50 with written verification from the supplier or copies of confirmed purchase 51 orders indicating the delivery dates of the materials yet to arrive at the site. 52
