The Parks & Facilities Department intends to <br />construct a new playground to replace the existing equipment and update the <br />playground to current industry standards. The project includes demolishing the existing <br />playground, removing the engineered wood fiber surfacing system, building a new <br />forever lawn surfacing system, installing the new playground equipment, certifying the <br />design and installation, and renovations and repairs to the park’s sports court. <br />The equipment and labor are available from Landscape Structures, Inc. and Northwest <br />Playground Equipment, Inc. through the King County Directors’ Association (KCDA) <br />competitively bid contract #22-315/City of Everett #2022-069. The City has an Interlocal <br />cooperative purchasing agreement with KCDA that allows for purchases from its <br />competitively awarded contracts instead of soliciting bids on our own. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Award and authorize the purchase of playground equipment and installation with <br />Landscape Structures, Inc. and Northwest Playground Equipment, Inc. from King County <br />Directors’ Association #22-315/City of Everett #2022-069, in the estimated amount of <br />$388,155.47 including Washington state sales tax. <br /> <br />
