May 29, 2024 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., May 29, 2024, <br />by President Schwab. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Rhyne, Bader, Tuohy, <br />Vogeli, Fosse, Zarlingo and President Schwab were present. <br /> <br />Council Member Zarlingo led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy recited the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br />The minutes of the May 22, 2024, meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin provided comments on Proposition No. 1. <br /> <br /> Mayor Franklin read the proclamation acknowledging the month of June as PRIDE Month. Mayor <br />Franklin invited Kevin Daniels, President of the Everett Pride Group, to accept the proclamation. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin invited Police Chief John DeRousse to introduce a new police officer. <br /> <br />OATH – POLICE OFFICERS <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Zarlingo, to concur with the <br />appointment of Jason Tutchtone as a new Everett Police Officer. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was call with all council members voting yes. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Deputy City Clerk administrated the oath of office, and council members congratulated Police <br />Officer Tutchtone. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />Council received (5) five written comments and the following members of the public spoke: <br />Terri Amburgy, John Peoples, Jeff Kelly and Jean Carrillo. <br />
