40 ORDINANCE NO. 2169 An Ordinance levying the general taxes for the City of Everett for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 1925 on all taxable property, both real and personal in said city, subject to taxation therein fur the purpose of raising sufficient revdnue to carry on the different departments of said City for the ensuing year as required by the charter of said city and the Laws of the State of Washington, prescribing and apport- ioning the sale into the different funds of said city for said fiscal year, providing for the collection thereof and repealing all ordinances in conflict therewith. Whereas, on the 1th day of October 1924, the City Council of the City of Everett did, duly and regularly adopt the estimate of the amounts required to meet the public expenses of said city for the ensuing year and the amount to be raised by taxation in said city for the said ensuing year from sources other than by direct tGxataion, and, Whereas , notice that said City Council tentatively completed the budget of the City of Everett for the year 1925 and that a copy of said budget would be furnished any tax payer of the City of Everett upon application therefor and that the City Council would meet in the Council room of the City Hall at 10 :30 aim. October 7, 1924 for the purpose of fixing the final budget and designating ,the tax levies ; and that any tax payee might appear thereat and be heard for or against any part of said budget was published in the official newspaper of said city in all respects as required by law, and, Whereas , said City Council did on October ', 1924 meet in the City Hall of said city at 10 :30 a.m. for the purposes aforesaid and having heard all persons appearing in favor of or against said proposed tax levy, did there and then make, determine and decide the amount of taxes to be placed upon the current assessment rolls to be in the sum of $402, 785.00, apportioned as hereinafter described, now therefore, -1-
