Regulated Building Material Inspection Terracon <br /> Port of Everett Marina - Equator Shed n Everett, Washington <br /> June 22, 2023 = Terracon Project No. 81227459 <br /> Each HID lamp contains one ballast <br /> ZI Each HID lamp contains a minimum of one mercury bulb, sodium vapor bulb, <br /> or metal halide bulb <br /> 5.2 Results <br /> Mercury-containing fluorescent light tubes, high intensity discharge lamps, switches and <br /> thermostats were not identified in the building. <br /> 6.0 Conclusions and Recommendations <br /> On June 13, 2023, Terracon conducted a regulated building materials inspection of the Port of <br /> Everett Marina - Equator Shed located at 1205 Craftsman Way in Everett, Washington. <br /> 6.1 Asbestos <br /> No asbestos was detected in the materials sampled. <br /> Additional suspect ACMs may be present in areas not inspected or that were inaccessible or <br /> concealed. These spaces include, but are not limited to, above hard ceiling decks, electrical <br /> systems, pipe chases, spaces between wall/ceiling/door/floor cavities, interior of mechanical <br /> components, beneath foundation pads, etc. If future maintenance, renovation, and/or <br /> demolition activities make these areas accessible, Terracon recommends that a thorough <br /> inspection of these spaces be conducted at that time to identify and confirm the presence or <br /> absence of additional suspect ACMs. Until then, all such unidentified materials must be treated <br /> as assumed ACMs in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. <br /> 6.2 Lead <br /> Of the samples analyzed, one was found to contain detectable concentrations of lead. <br /> The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries requires an exposure assessment <br /> be conducted during operations that may disturb the lead paint in such a way that the <br /> airborne exposure may reach or exceed the Action level of 30 micrograms per cubic meter <br /> (pg/m3) or the Permissible Exposure Limit of 50 pg/m3. The worker protection requirements of <br /> WAC 296-155-176 "Lead in Construction" may apply. <br /> Some of the coatings contained detectable concentrations of lead. If this building or portions <br /> of it will be demolished and disposed of, a toxicity characteristic leachate procedure (TCLP) <br /> sample that is representative of the waste stream must be collected and analyzed per the <br /> requirements of WAC 173-303. If the results of the TCLP analysis determine the waste to be a <br /> "dangerous waste" as defined by WAC 173-303, it must be disposed of accordingly. <br /> The TCLP procedure requires that the original test sample of a solid material be mixed or <br /> diluted with a volume of extraction fluid that equals 20 times the weight of the sample. If all a <br /> regulated metal in the sample completely dissolves or leaches into the extraction fluid during <br /> the tumbling cycle, then the concentration of the regulated metal in the extraction fluid will <br /> always be 20 times less than its original concentration in the sample, because it is diluted to <br /> 1/20th of its original concentration. Alternatively, the concentration of regulated metal in the <br /> sample must be 20 times the concentration required to"fail"the TCLP procedure. <br /> Explore with us 5 <br />
