industrial control system design. It addresses high priority items on our ICS (industrial control systems) improvement
Lroadmap.
IMP
Perimeter security is a high value, straight -forward step to increase our security posture. It will greatly increase our
ability to prevent unauthorized access to the ICS and restrict traffic through the DMZ by restricting access to necessary
and authorized traffic only. The funding requested will provide equipment (firewalls) which IT and OT staff will work
together to install and configure. No ongoing funding will be necessary once the installation is complete.
OUTCOME
T
T T T
The addition of perimeter security through Next Generation Fire Walls will greatly increase the security of our public
utilities infrastructure. This will increase our resiliency in offering utilities services of water as well as waste -water
treatment to our clients. Our infrastructure includes potable water treatment, supplying over 600k customers, and
waste water/combined stormwater treatment for the city of Everett and the surrounding region. The desired
outcome is to increase resiliency of our public utilities by increasing our security posture. This will improve our scores
on PR.PT-4 for perimeter security.
DHS-FEMA-SLCGP-FY23
Page 36 of 39 Everett, E24-268
