<br /> Ordinance No. 2152,
<br /> An Ordinance granting to the iiew Way Laundry Company, a corporation,
<br /> its successors and assigs , the right , privilege and authority, to lay
<br /> down, maintain and. operate pipes and conduits in certain streets, alleys
<br /> and public places in the city of Everett, for the transmission of
<br /> steam and hot water for the use thereof and to charge and. collect
<br /> reasonable tolls, rates one compensation therefor.
<br /> The city of Lverett does ordain:
<br /> erection I. That there be and is hereby granted to the i4ew Way Laundry
<br /> Ccrpany, a corporation, its successors and assigns, the right, privi-
<br /> lege and authority to lay down, rraintan and operate in and along any
<br /> of the streets, alleys and other public places within the district
<br /> in said city of Everett, bounded as described in this section, pipes
<br /> and conduits for the purpose of conducting and transmitting steam and
<br /> hot water for the heating of buildings and for heat or steam in any
<br /> form and for any purpose, said district being bounded and described
<br /> as follows:
<br /> On the east, by the west line of Rucker avenue; on. the south, by
<br /> the north line of 32nd Street; on the west, by the east line of Grand
<br /> avenue; and nn the north by the south line of Hewitt avenue.
<br /> Section II. That the grantee herein, before making any excavation
<br /> in any of the streets, s - er:ues, alleys or other publici places of said
<br /> city, shall file with the commissioner of public works of said city
<br /> a plan showing the streets, avenues , alleys or other public places
<br /> or parts thereof, and the particular part thereof, that it desires to
<br /> occupy, and said grantee shall not have authority to proceed with any
<br /> cf such work until the commissioner of public works and the city
<br /> council shall have approved said plan, either as presented, or as by
<br /> him or the city 'ouncil, modified or amended, and shall have granted
<br /> a permit therefor.
<br /> In prosecuting the work of laying down such pipe, the grantee
<br /> herein, shall not make excavations in any streets avenues, alleys,
<br /> or other public places, for a distance exceeding three blocks at 4
<br /> time, and upon completing such work, shall leave such streets .
