June 26, 2024 <br />1 <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., June 26, 2024, <br />by President Schwab. <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Fosse, Rhyne, Schwab, <br />Vogeli, Zarlingo, Bader, and Tuohy were present. <br />Council Member Rhyne led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Bader recited the land acknowledgement. <br />The minutes of the June 12, 2024, meeting were approved. <br />MAYOR <br />Mayor Franklin stated the Mayor’s Drug Crisis Task Force held their last meeting last week. She <br />also stated the City is holding three information sessions regarding Proposition 1. She wished <br />everyone a happy Fourth of July holiday. Mayor Franklin state the first downtown public <br />restroom will open on July 1. <br />Police Chief John DeRousse introduced two new police officers. <br />OATH – POLICE OFFICERS <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Bader, to concur with the <br />appointments of Bryan Cruz and Ruben Oviedo as new police officers. <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br />Motion carried. <br />The City Clerk administered the oaths of office, Mayor Franklin pinned the officers with their <br />badges, and Council members congratulated Officers Cruz and Oviedo. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Council received nine (9) written comment and the following members of the public spoke: John <br />Peeples, Marian Robinson, and Alan Miller.
