Along with other violations of construction without
permits, the SFR has a dangerous electrical system and is unfit for human occupancy. The current status of the SFR is
that it is vacated, water has/will be shut off today, electrical shut-off request has been sent to PUD (pending reply from
PUD).
Going forward:
1. The only permit that may be issued at this time (without my direct approval) is for temporary electrical power.
The permit would either be for a new temporary electrical service or to make the existing electrical service a
'temporary' service.
a. This entails removing all circuits to the existing panel and providing one ortwo GFCI receptacles at the
panel.
The next step would follow ourtypical permit process — building permit submission, review and issuance priorto
issuance of ANY other sub -permit (including electrical permit to wire/rewire/make electrical safe). The building
has several issues that will need to be addressed (work without permits, etc.) as well as dangerous electrical.
Occupancy of the structure will only be granted byfinal approvals and issued C of O.
Who may do the work? We strongly recommend a licensed electrical contractorto do this work, however State Law will
allow the homeownerto secure the permit. If a licensed electrical contractor secures the temporary electrical permit, it
may be issued over-the-counter. If anyone else applies forthe permit, please forward me the application and I will
assess it for issuance.
Thank you, Tony
CELEBRATING Tony Lee
125 Building Official I Permit Services
Y E A R S 425.257.8812 1 3200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett, WA 98201
A story worth telling everettwagov/permits/permits I Facebook I Twitter
Note: Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
