I have provided a couple
options for submitting additional information. Please submit revised drawings and any necessary supplemental
documentation to address the options.
Option 1—Talk with the building owner.
1. Obtain a copy of the current Certificate of Occupancy for the building/space you occupy.
2. Alternatively, you could provide a construction level set of drawings of the current space prepared by an
architect or engineer, if they exist. If not,you might need to submit all the information in Option 2.
Option 2—A licensed architect would be able to help prepare the necessary drawings and identify the required features.
We need the following information per IBC Section 111.
1. What is the use and occupancy of the building. IBC Chapter 3
2. What is the type of construction. IBC Chapter 6
3. What is the design occupant load. IBC Section 1004.1
4. Does the building have an automatic sprinkler system, and is the sprinkler required by the IBC per Section 903.2.
5. What is shown on the floor plan appears to only be the kitchen space, is there any space for customers, i.e.
seating/tables/bar/ordering counter? If yes, please show this space as a Certificate of Occupancy would be for
the entire usable space.
6. You only show a back door entering/exiting the space, is there any other openings into the space (keep in mind
the answer to 5 will help elaborate on what is happening with exits)?
Please use the Online Permitting Portal to check the status of all reviews. General permit questions can be addressed to
Permit Services at.PermitServices@everettwa.gov or(425) 257-8810.
Let me know if you have any questions related to the comments above.
Thank you,
Cal
— Cal Bearman, P.E.
Associate Engineer—Building Plans Examiner I Permit Services
425.257.8810 1 3200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett, WA 98201
EVERETT Phone Hours: M/W/Th: 8 a.m.—12 p.m. & 1 p.m.—3 p.m.
everettwa.gov/permits I Facebook I Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
1
