• J. <br /> /1114441, <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2385-99 <br /> An Ordinance Amending the Text of the Zoning Code, <br /> Ordinance No. 1671-89, as amended, for the C-2 <br /> (Heavy Commercial—Light Industrial)Zone, by Adding Certain Uses <br /> to the List of Permitted Uses, and by the addition of Use-Standards Table, Page 25-16. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds: <br /> 1. The C-2 (Heavy Commercial—Light Industrial) Zone allows for a wide range of commercial <br /> and industrial uses; and <br /> 2. The Everett Station site established by City Council Resolution 4140 is entirely located <br /> within the C-2 zone; and <br /> 3. The C-2 zone allows uses which are similar in nature and/or impact to the uses that are <br /> proposed to be established at the Everett Station; and <br /> 4. The City desires to specifically list as permitted uses those uses that are anticipated at the <br /> Everett Station site; and <br /> 5. The Planning Commission held a public hearing on March 16, 1999, and has recommended <br /> that the City Council add certain uses to the list of permitted uses in the C-2 zone; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Planning Commission concludes: <br /> 1. The addition of"college, university;" "government administrative offices;" `public service <br /> uses, buildings;" "passenger terminals;"and "transit stations, supportive and incidental <br /> uses;"to the list of permitted uses in the C-2 zone will facilitate the development of the <br /> Everett Station transportation facility without detriment to the C-2 zone or surrounding uses <br /> and zones; and <br /> 2. The addition of"college, university;" "government administrative offices;" "public service <br /> uses, buildings;" "passenger terminals;"and "transit stations, supportive and incidental <br /> uses;"to the list of permitted uses in the C-2 zone will allow uses which are similar in nature <br /> and impact to uses which are currently listed as permitted uses in the C-2 zone. <br /> 3. The amendments proposed to the Zoning Code are consistent with the Everett <br /> Comprehensive Plan; bear a substantial relation to public health, safety or welfare; and <br /> promote the best long term interests of the Everett community. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br />
