August 21, 2024 <br />2 <br /> <br />COUNCIL <br /> <br />Council Member Zarlingo spoke about his attendance at a ribbon cutting for new yoga studio <br />downtown. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne spoke about her attendance at the Parks and Quality of Life committee <br />meeting. She also stated the Pinehurst - Beverly Park Neighborhood is hosting an ice cream social. <br /> <br />Council Member Bader requested a briefing on the U.S. Supreme court decision regarding public <br />camping. <br /> <br />President Schwab spoke about public involvement in the City’s budget process and the selection <br />of the Council’s third-party budget analyst, Michael Bailey. He also spoke on upcoming Budget <br />committee meetings and proposed changes to future Council meetings. <br /> <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION UPDATE <br /> <br />Government Affairs Director Jennifer Gregerson provided additional updates on the budget <br />process. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br />City Attorney David Hall requested a 5-minute executive session pursuant to RCW 42.30.110.1(i) <br />with council action to follow. <br /> <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEMS: <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Bader, seconded by Council Member Tuohy, to approve the <br />following consent items: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION - CLAIMS <br /> <br />To adopt Resolution No. 8060 authorizing claims against the City of Everett in the amount of <br />$6,235,651.55 for the period ending August 3, 2024, through August 9, 2024. <br /> <br />AGREEMENT - GOVERNMENT RELATIONS <br /> <br />To approve the Professional Services Agreement with Trevor Justin Government Relations LLC <br />through December 2025.
