r - ORDINANCE NO. 2030 An Ordinance granting to the Coast Ice and Cold Storage Company, a corporation, its successors and assigns, the right, pri- vilege and authority to lay down, maintain and operate pipes and con- duits in certain streets, alleys and public places in the City of Everett for the transmission of steam and water, and to thereby transmit and deliver steam and hot water for the use thereof and to charge and collect reasonable rates, tolls and compensation, therefor. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That there be and is hereby granted to the Coast Ice and Cold Storage Company, a corporation, its successors and assigns, the right, privilege and authority to lay down, maintain and operate in and along any and all of the streets, avenues, alleys and other public within the district in said City of Everett, bounded as des- cribed in this section, pipes and conduits for the purpose of con- ducting and transmitting steam and hot water for the heating of buildings and )40" heat or steam in any form or for any purpose, said . district being bounded and described as follows: From and including Smith Avenue, west to and including Rucker Avenue; from and including 32nd Street, north to and including Calif- ornia Avenue. Section 2. That the grantee herein, before making any excavation in any of the streets, avenues, alleys or public places of said city, shall file with the Commissioner of Public Works of said city a plan show- ing the streets, avenues, alleys or other public places or parts there- of, and the particular part thereof, that t$ desires to occupy and said grantee shall not have authority to proceed with any of such work until the Commissioner of Public Works and the City Council shall have approved such plan, either as presented, or as by him or the City Council modified or amended, and shall have granted a permit therefor.
