Additional detailing should be performed for the guards,including but not limited to opening sizes. The guards <br /> should be design to resist a minimum 250 pound load;the specified 2x4 may not be sufficient <br /> a.Please see 6/S4.2 for guardrail connection detailing.See supplemental calc packet for guardrail <br /> design <br /> 7. The structural drawings should bearing a Washington state engineering seal,not a California seal. This includes <br /> Sheets S-01 and S-02. <br /> a. Please see updated drawings for correct stamp <br /> 8. The special inspections should be expanded to require concrete inspections(e.g.,forms,rebar,concrete <br /> placement,cast-in anchors,etc.). Inspections should also be required for the proprietary lateral system on the <br /> east side;the appropriate frequency is presumed to be continuous. <br /> a. Please see the updated general structural notes for clarified special inspection requirements <br /> 9. The new interior stair will require excavation near the existing building foundation. Verify the foundation will not <br /> be undermined. <br /> a. Please see updated detail 12/S3.2. The new concrete stair is interior and does not need to <br /> undermine the existing footing. <br /> 10. Detail 4/S4.2 is presumed to connect to an existing concrete wall similar to Detail 2/S4.2. Note that it is <br /> understood that an infill wall is occurring to the south,but that the concrete wall will be the primary lateral <br /> element for the new diaphragm. Detail 4 should be revised. Detail 2 should also be revised to clearly show <br /> wood construction above the TOW,not concrete. <br /> a.
