CITY OF EVERETT WEST MARINE VIEW DRIVE/ALVERSON AND 41 ST ST/GRAND AVE <br />PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS <br />STATE FUND# HLP-PB15(032) <br />WO #3630 July 25, 2024 <br />59 <br />1 •Before using additives, obtain the Engineers approval using WSDOT Form 350- <br />2 076 to describe the proposed additive and process. <br />3 <br />4 5-04.3 Construction Requirements <br />5 <br />6 5-04.3(1) Weather Limitations <br />7 Do not place HMA for wearing course on any Traveled Way beginning October 1st <br />8 through March 31st of the following year without written concurrence from the Engineer. <br />9 <br />10 Do not place HMA on any wet surface, or when the average surface temperatures are <br />11 less than those specified below, or when weather conditions otherwise prevent the proper <br />12 handling or finishing of the HMA. <br />13 <br />14 Minimum Surface Temperature for Paving <br />Compacted Thickness <br />(Feet)Wearing Course Other Courses <br />Less than 0.10 YY <br />0.10 to .20 Y Y <br />More than 0.20 Y Y <br />15 <br />16 5-04.3(2) Paving Under Traffic <br />17 When the Roadway being paved is open to traffic, the requirements of this Section <br />18 5.9&&X966&') <br />19 <br />20 The Contractor shall keep intersections open to traffic at all times except when paving the <br />21 intersection or paving across the intersection. During such time, and provided that there <br />22 has been an advance warning to the public, the intersection may be closed for the <br />23 minimum time required to place and compact the mixture. In hot weather, the Engineer <br />24 may require the application of water to the pavement to accelerate the finish rolling of the <br />25 pavement and to shorten the time required before reopening to traffic. <br />26 <br />27 Before closing an intersection, advance warning signs shall be placed and signs shall also <br />28 be placed marking the detour or alternate route. <br />29 <br />30 During paving operations, temporary pavement markings shall be maintained throughout <br />31 the project. Temporary pavement markings shall be installed on the Roadway prior to <br />32 opening to traffic. Temporary pavement markings shall be in accordance with Section 8- <br />33 23. <br />34 <br />35 All costs in connection with performing the Work in accordance with these requirements <br />36 shall be included in the unit Contract prices for the various Bid items involved in the <br />37 Contract. <br />38
