Resolution is as follows:
1. Regarding the blocking, this was in the original letter dated May 1, item#9: "Provide blocking per R602.7.2 and
R602.8." While this was missed in adding redlines to the drawings, it still applies. Here's a link to that code
section: https://up.codes/viewer/washington/wa-residential-code-2021/chapter/3/building-planning#R302.11
2. Regarding the header, I'm sorry we didn't review that in more detail, but the drawing I attached for the portal
frame does show the header to be continuous across the entire wall. However, the lateral bracing can be
provided in another way. Inspector Rakeeb told me you have 3 feet of wing wall on either side of the new door
opening. Therefore, a CS-PF Portal frame is not required, and you can keep your header. Instead, you have
provided a 3'-0" CS-G per table R602.10.3(1),which meets and exceeds the requirement for this wall bracing
line.
3. Staples were used for the structural wall panels. The drawing redlines indicated "6-8D or 16GA 7/16" Crown
Galt'". This is sufficient for non-structural sheathing. For WSP fasteners,Table R602.3(3) states that for 3/8"
structural panels, 6d common are required. Please supplement your work by adding these nails at 6" OC per the
Table on the CS-WSP and CS-G.
