When planing or paving and related construction must occur in an 1 intersection, schedule and sequence such work into quarters of the intersection, 2 or half or more of an intersection with side street detours unless otherwise 3 directed by the Engineer. Be prepared to sequence the work to individual lanes 4 or portions thereof. 5 c. Allow new compacted HMA asphalt to cool to ambient temperature before 6 any traffic is allowed on it. Traffic is not allowed on newly placed asphalt until 7 approval has been obtained from the Engineer. 8 2. Temporary centerline marking, post-paving temporary marking, temporary stop 9 bars, and maintaining temporary pavement marking must comply with Section 8-10 23. 11 3. Permanent pavement marking must comply with Section 8-22. 12 13 14 5-04.3(15) Vacant 15 16 5-04.3(16) HMA Road Approaches 17 HMA approaches shall be constructed at the locations shown in the Plans or where 18 staked by the Engineer. The Work shall be performed in accordance with Section 5-04. 19 20 5-04.4 Measurement 21 “Planing Bituminous Pavement (2” Deep)”, shall be measured by the square yard. 22 23 “HMA Class ½”, PG 64-22”, shall be measured by the ton. 24 25 5-04.5 Payment 26 Payment will be made in accordance with Section 1-04.1, for each of the following bid 27 items that are included in the proposal: 28 29 “HMA Class ½” PG 64-22”, per ton. 30 31 The unit contract price per ton for “HMA Class ½” PG 64-22”, shall be full compensation 32 for all costs incurred to carry out the requirements of Section 5-04 except for those costs 33 included in other items which are included in the sub-section and which are included in 34 the proposal. 35 36 All costs for “Asphalt Tack Coat”, “Anti Stripping Additive”, “Compaction Adjustment” and 37 “Joint Sealing Transverse Joints in Paving” shall be included in the unit contract price per 38 ton for “HMA Class ½” PG 64-22”, per ton. 39 40 “Planing Bituminous Pavement (2” Deep)”, per square yard. 41 42 The Unit contract price for “Planing Bituminus Pavement (2” Deep), per square yard shall 43 be full payment for all costs incurred to perform the work described in Section 5-04.3(14). 44 . 45 46 END DIVISION5.RTF 47 48 49
