3 <br /> <br />d. Attendance from remote locations is intended to be an alternative and <br />infrequently used method for participation. <br /> <br />e. Council President or Presiding Officer shall not approve a Councilmember’s <br />request for remote participation at any meeting in which there will not be a quorum <br />of Councilmembers physically present at the location specified in the notice of the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />f. Councilmembers requesting approval to participate in council meetings remotely <br />are required to contact the Council President and Council Executive Assistant, via <br />email if possible, no later than the morning of the Council meeting. Requests will be <br />accommodated on a first come first serve basis. <br /> <br />g. Councilmember’s remote participation must comply with meeting requirements <br />established in the City Charter and any other legal requirements that pertain to <br />public meetings. <br /> <br />3. Virtual Executive Session Participation. A Councilmember who has attended a <br />Council meeting remotely may also participate in an Executive Session remotely if <br />they are in a secured location with no other people sharing the same room or able <br />to hear discussions. The secure remote meeting link to participate will be separate <br />from the Council meeting link and only available to the Councilmember participating <br />remotely, and the City Clerk, who will ensure there is a computer ready. Following <br />the conclusion of an Executive Session a Councilmember participating remotely <br />would rejoin the main Council meeting, if an announcement or action is necessary. <br /> <br />4. Attendance, excused absences. The Everett City Charter 2.6 Forfeiture of Office <br />provides that a councilmember shall forfeit their office by failing to attend three (3) <br />consecutive regular meetings of the council without being excused by the Council. <br />Members of the council may be excused by complying with this section. If the <br />member has a planned absence, the member is required to request being excused, <br />via email if possible, to the Council President prior to the meeting. If the member is <br />unable to contact the President, the member shall contact the Council Executive <br />Assistant or the Council Vice President who will notify appropriate parties. <br /> <br />5. The structure of the Council agenda will be determined by the Council <br />President/presiding officer. The President or presiding officer’s agenda structure <br />may be overridden by a majority of Councilmembers present at any meeting. The <br />agenda may contain some or all of the following contents: <br /> <br />A. Call to Order <br />B. Roll Call <br />C. Pledge of Allegiance <br />D. Land Acknowledgement <br />E. Approval of Minutes
