General Contractor (GC): The installing party, subcontractors, and vendors. <br /> 13. Owner: Entity with the highest level of responsibility for directing the project. <br /> 14. Owners Project Requirements (OPR): a dynamic document that provides the <br /> explanation of the ideas, concepts, and criteria that are considered to be very <br /> important to the Owner. <br /> 15. Party: Person, company or entity. The parties are individually defined below <br /> 16. Performance Verification Test (PVT): point-to-point device & calibration check <br /> out, performed by controls contractor prior to the start of commissioning FPTs. <br /> 17. Pre-Functional Performance Test (PFPT): This is an item of check out <br /> inspections that simply require a Yes/No response. These are used as one <br /> component to the equipment start up verification (startup tests being the other). <br /> 18. Quality Control Contractor (QC): The party witnessing, documenting, and <br /> analyzing test results and reporting the findings to the project team. This <br /> individual is not responsible for project design, construction management, or <br /> installation. <br /> 19. RFI: Request for Information. <br /> 20. Sampling: Functional performance testing a fraction of the total number of <br /> identical or near identical pieces of equipment. If applicable, the CA develops a <br /> sampling strategy, agreed upon by the commissioning team for multiple identical, <br /> non-life-safety, or non-critical systems. <br /> 21. Startup: Contractor static testing and check out of systems and equipment to <br /> ensure that the systems are complete, properly installed, and ready for dynamic <br /> testing. Startups are documented via contractor/vendor-supplied checklists or <br /> forms. Measurements, setpoints, and sequences of events are required to be <br /> documented. <br /> 22. Startup Test: This is a test involved with equipment start up. It differs from a <br /> checklist item in that a measurement is required to be documented or a sequence <br /> of events must be documented such that it requires more than a binary response; <br /> done by Installing Contractor/Vendors. <br /> 23. Testing, Adjusting, And Balancing (TAB): A systematic process or service <br /> applied to heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems and other <br /> environmental systems to achieve and document air and hydronic flow rates. <br /> 24. Trend Logs (Endurance Testing): monitoring and recording a history of <br /> parameters via the DDC system; reports provided in graphical format. <br /> 25. Verification Completion: A milestone that marks the completion of the <br /> Acceptance Phase and successful completion of the test executions. <br /> 26. Warranty Period: Duration of time that begins at Substantial Completion and <br /> extends for at least one year, unless specifically noted otherwise in the Contract <br /> Documents and accepted submittals. Warranty period applies to the entire <br /> project, including equipment components. <br /> B. Scope of Cx Services <br /> 1. The following systems will be tested.
