RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION In Support of City of Everett’s <br />2024 Pathways to Removing Obstacles (PRO) Housing Grant Application <br />WHEREAS, the City of Everett and the Everett City Council is committed to providing safe, <br />affordable, and accessible housing for all residents and recognizes the critical need for housing <br />and community development programs in Everett; and, <br />WHEREAS, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) PRO Housing funds have been made <br />available through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide <br />essential resources to address housing needs and foster sustainable communities; and, <br />WHEREAS, the PRO Housing grant’s core objectives of removing barriers to affordable housing <br />production and preservation align with objectives and goals set forth through the City of <br />Everett’s Rethink Housing Plan which has identified various solutions to address our affordable <br />housing crisis; and <br />WHEREAS, the Everett City Council has reviewed the proposed 2024 PRO Housing Grant <br />Application from the City’s Community, Planning and Economic Development Department, and <br />concurs with the outlined initiatives; and <br />WHEREAS, HUD’s PRO Housing Grant will enable the City to expand its housing support <br />initiatives, addressing the needs of low-income families, individuals experiencing homelessness, <br />and other at-risk populations which will enhance our city’s resiliency and quality of life. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />1.The Mayor and the Mayor’s designee(s) are hereby authorized to submit an application <br />to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for funding assistance in <br />accordance with this Resolution and the requirements of the application. The Mayor or <br />the Mayor’s designee(s) are authorized to sign and provide the needed documents and <br />to take all actions necessary to complete all application processes. <br />2.This Resolution will become part of the formal application to the U.S. Department of <br />Housing and Urban Development. <br />8082
