Design and <br />Installation <br />Specifications <br />Maintenance <br />Standards <br />Depending on project type, size, complexity, and length, materials and <br />quantities will vary. A good minimum list of items that will cover <br />numerous situations includes: <br />Material <br />Clear Plastic, 6 mil <br />Drainpipe, 6 or 8 inch diameter <br />Sandbags, filled <br />Straw Bales for mulching, <br />Quarry S alls <br />Washed Gravel <br />Geotextile Fabric <br />Catch Basin Inserts <br />Steel "T" Posts <br />Silt fence material <br />Straw Wattles <br />• All materials with the exception of the quarry spalls, steel "T" posts, <br />and gravel should be kept covered and out of both sun and rain. <br />Re -stock materials used as needed. <br />BMP C151: Concrete Handling <br />Purpose Concrete work can generate process water and slurry that contain fine <br />particles and high pH, both of which can violate water quality standards in <br />the receiving water. Concrete spillage or concrete discharge to surface <br />waters of the State is prohibited. Use this BMP to minimize and eliminate <br />concrete, concrete process water, and concrete slurry from entering waters <br />of the state. <br />Conditions of Use Any time concrete is used, utilize these management practices. Concrete <br />construction projects include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />• Curbs <br />• Sidewalks <br />• Roads <br />• Bridges <br />• Foundations <br />• Floors <br />• Runways <br />Design and Assure that washout of concrete trucks, chutes, pumps, and internals is <br />Installation performed at an approved off -site location or in designated concrete <br />Volume II— Construction Stormwater Pollution Prevention - December 2014 <br />4-42 <br />
