You will find my original correction letter at the end of this
email train.
I have completed my re-review and have determined the proposed height of the new dwelling is still
over height. Please see my notes on sheet A-4 of the attached revised plan set. The site plan and
elevation drawings are measuring height from the average base elevation of the proposed footprint
of the dwelling, this is not how height is calculated in historic overlay districts. (Please see the linked
UDC 19.22.060 code section below in my initial email.) If the information I have provided on sheet A-
4 does not align with actual site conditions, please revise the site plan accordingly and include the
sidewalk elevation on your building elevation drawings.
If you are in agreement that I have accurately shown the correct height calculations and you are
looking to reduce the height of the proposed dwelling please confirm with Planner Karen Stewart
that any changes, including reducing roof pitch, will satisfy historic requirements. Karen has been
cc'd to this email.
Please note, my re-review was from the pdfs emailed to me on August 11th, Permit Services received
the necessary paper copies to route to other departments for review just today. Building will likely
not review the plans until the proposed height is confirmed to meet UDC standards.
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Best Regards,
Grace Pollard
Associate Planner I Planning Division
Community, Planning, and Economic Development Department
425.257.8731 1 2930 Wetmore Avenue, Suite 8A, Everett, WA 98201
everettwa.gov/planning I Facebook I Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure
pursuant to the Public Records Act.
