• <br /> ORDINANCE NO 1951 <br /> An Ordinance amending Section 21 of Ordinance No. 1439 of the <br /> City of Everett entitled : <br /> "An Ordinance relating to the making of local improvements to <br /> be paid for in whole or in part , directly or indirectly, by assessments upon <br /> the lots or paroels of land benefited by such improvement , providing for the <br /> establishment of modal improvement districts fort he purpose of paying <br /> therefor; prescribing the mode in which the charge upon the respective lots <br /> and parcels of land shall be assessed, and repealing all ordinances and <br /> parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, and declaring an emergency, ", and de- <br /> claring an emergency. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN :- <br /> Section 1 : That Section 21 of Ordinance No. 1439 be and the <br /> same is hereby amended to read as follows : <br /> "Section 21 : Items of Cost : In making an estimate of the cost <br /> and expense of any improvement , as provided in this Ordinance, the Commissioner <br /> of Public Works shall include therein the estimated cost and expense of the <br /> engineering and surveying necessary for said improvement , to be done by and <br /> under the direction of the City Engineer, and also the coat of ascertaining <br /> the ownership of the lots and parcels of land included in the assessment dist- <br /> rict , and the cost of advertising and publishing all notices required to be <br /> published, and also shall add as a charge against each description of prop- <br /> erty appearing upon the assessment roll the following sum, <br /> to-wit : In case <br /> of immediate assessment the sum of One Dollar ($1.00) per description, in <br /> case of assessment payable in five annual installments the sum of Two ($2.00) <br /> Dollars, per description, in case of assessment payable in ten annual install- <br /> ments the sum of Three ($3.00) Dollars, per description ; which sum in a <br /> particular case will be the charge of the coat of the accounting; clerical <br /> labor, books and blanks incurred by the City Clerk and City Treasurer in <br /> connection with such assessment.", <br /> Section 2: An emergency is declared to exist , and this <br /> Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication. <br /> mayor <br /> Passed, ts,o, 14th i$20. <br /> Attest <br /> Published` 'Sept . 7th, 920. <br />
